A Holiday Season Full of Moments That Matter

What will you say no to these next few weeks, so you can say yes to the things that really matter?

During the holiday season, many of us plan time to slow down at work to focus on friends, family, and the many celebrations. Of course, there are those things we love to do — the things that help us cherish this time of year.

Yet we can also too easily fill every tiny space in our days with the endless array of obligations and things we could do.

Consider this perspective from the author James Patterson:

“Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. They are called work, family, health, friends and integrity. And you’re keeping them all in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that the work ball is made of rubber – if you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls are made of glass.”

Now is a perfect time to care for those “glass balls.” Yet in the busyness of the season, make sure you not only give of yourself to your family, but that you also make time to care for your health and to be in integrity with yourself.

So why not say no to one or two things to free up some space to nurture you — because remember that you matter, too.

Take even just a bit of time to fill your own well and you will be far more present for those you love.

Wishing you a Holiday Season filled with joy and many moments that matter.
